Role Description
This is a contract, hybrid on-site role/remote for a Freelance Children’s Wear Designer, located in New York, NY. Working with the Creative Director, the designer will be responsible for conceptualizing, sketching, and developing children’s clothing designs aligned with Little Moony's brand identity. Ideal candidates have experience in children’s apparel, a strong sense of color, print, and playful proportion, and an eye for thoughtful, modern classics. Familiarity with small-batch production, working with premium natural fabrics, and developing seasonal capsules with a whimsical, art-forward sensibility is a plus.
Qualifications
- Strong design skills, including sketching, creative conceptualization, and technical drawing
- Experience in fabric selection, pattern design, and garment construction for children’s wear
- Detail-oriented with expertise in creating technical specifications, mood boards, and style guides
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop) and other design software
- Knowledge of current fashion trends in children’s wear and an understanding of sustainable and ethical design practices
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with production teams and stakeholders
- Previous experience in a children’s wear
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design
