Job Title: Editorial Director- Cardiology
Duration: 07+ Months Contract
Location: Newark, NJ (Hybrid)
Pay Rate: $65/hour - $75/hour on W2
Overview:
A leading health information platform is seeking a Director of Cardiology Content to oversee medical news and feature coverage targeted at physicians and healthcare professionals. This role involves managing editorial planning, assigning and editing cardiology-related content, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure timely and high-quality publication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and assign compelling cardiology content ideas tailored to a professional medical audience
- Edit articles for clinical accuracy, editorial quality, and relevance
- Collaborate with marketing to craft engaging newsletters and promotional content
- Work with operations to publish content efficiently and on deadline
- Support special projects across editorial and campaign teams
- Identify and manage freelance writers with expertise in medical journalism.
Requirements:
- Minimum 8 years of experience in health, science, or medical editorial roles
- Strong knowledge of cardiology and the clinical landscape
- Demonstrated ability to manage freelance contributors and editorial workflows
- Exceptional editing skills with a focus on accuracy, balance, and timeliness
- Ability to translate complex medical information for a physician audience
- Highly organized, deadline-oriented, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, science, or a related field
