Apparel Designer - Major Retail Apparel Client with a Focus on Women's and Children's (New York, New York)
Scope: 14-week W2 contract with assignment running through September 15, 2025, includes options for medical, dental, and vision benefits and holiday pay.
Hourly Rate: $35-$40
Hybrid 4 days a week in New York.
Summary: Responsible for creating original concepts that encompass style, color, and fabric as a result of interpreting fashion trends. Produces sketches and may make seasonal presentations of proposed designs. Analyzes fashion trends. Partners with sourcing and materials development. May provide basic fit and body block information and attend fit sessions. Typically reports to Design Director. Bachelor's degree in design or equivalent experience. Related design experience.
Top Needs:
- 3-5 years of experience
- Women's or Kids' experience
- Should know how to do fittings, update sketches after fittings, and design lines within concepts.
- Covers Knits & Wovens category- experience in one or both of these categories required.
- Being able to create a full tech pack and tech design on spec sheets and callouts is required.
- Open to people with a background in freelance, but should be able to show examples of sketching & tech packs.
- Centric PLM experience is a plus, but not required.
- Adobe Illustrator for sketching.
