Position Overview:
We’re looking for a Senior UX Designer (Freelance Contractor) to lead UX design for the Seen credit card product, an affiliated company with Snap Finance. This is a 6-month contract role ideal for a senior-level independent designer.
As the primary designer for Seen an affiliated company with Snap Finance, you’ll drive the design vision and execution across both marketing and product experiences. You'll collaborate with a cross-functional team—including product, engineering, and marketing—to shape how customers discover, apply for, and manage their Seen credit card.
This role is U.S.-based, with a strong preference for candidates who can co-locate with our product team in Chicago (West Loop), hybrid 3 days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday). Remote candidates will still be considered.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary design owner for the Seen credit card product within Snap Finance’s broader UX team
- Lead the Seen.com redesign to improve conversion and marketing clarity (Webflow experience is a plus)
- Design key product flows and features including:
- Account Application process improvements.
- Account servicing enhancements and modernization.
- Information architecture across product and support surfaces
- Create user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity prototypes to communicate ideas clearly
- Apply user-centered design principles to build engaging, accessible experiences
- Partner with product managers and engineers to launch features that solve real user problems
- Use qualitative and quantitative insights to inform and validate design decisions
- Maintain and evolve Seen’s design system for consistency and scalability
- Present design recommendations to stakeholders, aligning user needs with business goals
Requirements:
- 5+ years of UX design experience with a strong portfolio of shipped digital products
- Experience in FinTech or financial services, with an understanding of money movement and credit products
- Expertise in interaction design, visual design, design systems, and prototyping
- Strong proficiency in Figma (primary design tool), with familiarity in supporting tools as needed
- Experience leading UX for mobile-first products and responsive web applications
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills with cross-functional partners
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and own complex problem spaces from concept to delivery
Nice to Have:
- Experience using Webflow to update or manage marketing content
- Familiarity with HTML/CSS and front-end development collaboration
- Background in financial literacy or designing for underserved users
