The creative and discerning Content Strategy Lead will amplify the performance of editorial articles using established (but evolving) best practices alongside seasoned judgment. You will bring a passion for improving user experience and bettering business efficacy, which you will channel into boosting the helpfulness and visibility of content. You will join a team committed to delivering reader satisfaction that inspires educated action. This role reports to the Senior Manager of Content Strategy. Please note: This is not a writing role.

Responsibilities

  • You are responsible for delivering comprehensive strategy outlines that inform assignment execution; these include topic keyword research, content metadata, article structure guidelines and other relevant notes
  • You help identify, then carefully manage the strategy of, at least 30 assignments per month
  • You create strategic article templates that can be easily applied to content series for batch assigning
  • You comfortably and directly work with writers, including freelance contributors, to complete assignments on schedule
  • Additionally, you tackle miscellaneous special projects, providing research and your professional perspective, as well as operational assistance. This may include developing and owning new, innovative content strategies
  • Your assignments and projects span multiple content categories and subjects, from wedding planning etiquette and shopping inspiration to relationship advice
  • You analyze content and present results to inspire future strategy
  • You primarily support The Knot digital content and focus on article updates, but you can pivot as needed
  • You constantly consider multiple goals— including article traffic and engagement—to make calculated decisions or recommendations
  • You regularly work independently and take ownership of outcomes
  • You are an integrated member of the marketing team, which includes working standard hours, attending relevant meetings, and daily use of tools like Google Workspace and Slack

Successful Candidates Have

    • At least 5 years of relevant content experience honing strategy acumen, including multiple years spent deeply focused on SEO and improving existing articles as a digital editor or strategist
    • A solid grasp of affiliate (commerce) content strategy and what makes it unique
    • Spent significant time navigating tools like Semrush to optimize content for search discoverability and user intent
    • Everyday spreadsheet experience and reporting knowledge (familiarity with success metrics, data dashboards, gleaning insights and sharing learnings)
    • The ability to view things from multiple perspectives (the writer's, the reader's, business and brand alignment)
    • The stamina to focus on similar content for days or weeks, but the agility to quickly switch gears when the opportunity arises
    • The resourcefulness to regularly reference available resources (in addition to your own expert instinct) and apply that information to a wide variety of situations
    • A solid understanding of the role of content in a marketing funnel, with experience writing or strategizing to drive immediate or future actions
    • Disciplined time management and a proactive communication style
    • Demonstrated personal accountability and organization skills, plus a passion for content excellence
At The Knot Worldwide, we believe you are more than a resume and invite you to go for it, take the leap of faith, and apply for this job if it sparks your passion to join TKWW and make a difference!
