Our CPG client in the outdoor gear space is looking for a Packaging Designer to join their in-house creative team! This is a hybrid role that requires 3 days a week onsite at the client's office in northeast Fort Worth. This is a 40 hour / week ongoing contract role.
The Packaging Designer truly can make an impact by presenting unique ideas and bringing multiple brands to life across packaging as well as other print and digital media. This role is primarily graphics related but will also guide the structural design of packaging and displays.
Packaging Designer Responsibilities
- Design retail packaging, displays and various print materials from concept through to production-ready files
- Create impactful visuals based on the brand's unique voice
- Collaborate with Product Design and Category teams to understand the latest product features and strategies to help guide creative development
- Work closely with overseas production teams to oversee production and troubleshoot issues
- Collaborate frequently with various internal teams to understand latest features and functions of the products that would impact designs
- Collaborate with Creative Director, fellow designers, and other internal teams to brainstorm new ideas and concepts
- Communicate clear updates to internal clients and other cross-functional partners on projects
- Maintain brand guidelines and design standards
- Stay up to date on design trends and provide expertise on industry trends, product categories, and products
- Follow workflow and sign-off protocols to ensure milestones are met and final deliverables are error-free - Manage timelines and prioritize projects as needed while communicating updates to necessary teams
Packaging Designer Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in graphic design, visual communications or relevant experience
- 5+ years of design experience
- Portfolio showcasing a wide variety of work and design expertise
- Experience in print and packaging and preparing files for print production
- Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
- Ability to communicate technical ideas with visual impact
- Experience with KeyShot or other 3D rendering software is a plus
