We are currently recruiting candidates for our PRN coding team. This is a 1099 contractor opportunity.

Initial competency screening will be conducted to identify strengths. Post contract accuracy competencies must be maintained.
We are interested in PRN Certified Medical Coders to join our PRN pool who are proficient in coding for the following specialties!
· Surgical Urology
· Evaluation and Management Service Auditing and Coding
· Anesthesia Coding
· Orthopedic Surgical Coding
· Cardiovascular Interventional Radiology and Related CV Procedures
Scope of Work:
The PRN Certified Medical Coder Contractor is responsible to assist our billing team and clients to obtain accurate reimbursement for our providers’ claims. This is done through thoroughly reviewing, analyzing, and coding both diagnostic and procedural documentation used in the billing of charges for physician services.
- Communicate availability each month for potential special project coding assignments.
- Perform initial charge review to determine appropriate CPT and ICD-10 codes to be used in reporting physician services to third party payers.
- Interpret progress notes, operative reports, and charge documents to determine services provided and accurately assigns CPT and ICD-10 codes to these services. Report documentation deficiency trends to coding departmental lead.
- Perform a comprehensive review of the record to assure all vital information such as patient identification, signatures, and dates are all present in the record.
- Evaluate the records for documentation consistency and adequacy. Ensure that the diagnosis(es) accurately reflects the care and treatment rendered.
- Monitor and follow up to ensure all services that can be billed are captured and coded for billing.
- Analyze provider documentation to confirm the appropriate Evaluation & Management levels are assigned using the correct CPT codes.
- Responsible for ensuring the batch processes for all coded charges.
- Utilizes batch-logging systems to comply with internal audit standards.
- Demonstrates high productivity using the RCM Benchmarks.
- Consistently meets and/or exceeds 95% on monthly internal audits.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Coding Certification through AAPC or AHIMA is required with a minimum of two years’ experience with CPT and ICD-10 coding.
- Specialty coding certification is a plus.
- Organize and prioritize responsibilities while remaining flexible to changing demands.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to interact well.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Must have high level of discretion and judgment.
- Must have dedicated work space/office in remote location.
- Must have necessary equipment (i.e. laptop, computer to perform PRN functions with secure wi-fi with a minimum of 20 Mbps.
- High proficiency with computer software including but not limited to health information management system, billing software, insurance websites, and Microsoft Office.
