Jr. Copyeditor

Our Boston based marketing technology company is looking for an Jr. Copyeditor for an 8+ week contract; this role will be 20 hours a week. Looking for experience with Wordpress, SEO content knowledge and experience and the ability to write and/or edit to an SEO brief.

Day in the life:

• Retrieving briefs from SEO agency, which could go up to 15 briefs in a month
• Reviewing briefs for appropriate tone/story for company and product
• Submitting briefs to freelancing portal
• Editing freelance submissions/requesting revisions within ~5-day window (~15/month or 30,000 words)
• Laying out final submissions in Wordpress and coordinating with Manager or Director for final publish (~15-20 a month)
• Attends input meetings to gather necessary product information; takes notes and follows up on missing info and merch queries; passes info along to copywriter.
• Works with copywriter to address inconsistencies in style and text.
• Produces a style sheet, ensuring consistency and order of elements that make up a copy block, such as sizes, dimensions, etc.
• Corrects errors in spelling, grammar, syntax and structure.
