Job Overview:
Are you equal parts data wizard, marketing whiz, and master organizer? We’re looking for a Strategy, Marketing & Operations Assistant to join our boutique consulting agency on a freelance basis. In this hybrid role, you’ll help extract and analyze sales data, manage content creation and marketing for our agency, and provide day-to-day operational support.
We work with independent, design-forward brands in categories like fashion accessories, stationery, home goods, and lifestyle products—helping them scale their retail and wholesale businesses. This role is perfect for someone who loves creative brands, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and enjoys a mix of analytical and creative work.
This is a 20–25 hour/week freelance role, with the potential to grow into a larger role as the business expands.
Responsibilities
Data & Operations Support:
- Extract sales and product data from Shopify and other platforms.
- Create and maintain sales reports, product performance dashboards, and inventory summaries.
- Analyze sales trends and provide actionable insights to support strategy.
- Organize and maintain internal documents, timelines, and project deliverables.
- Help manage founder’s calendar and coordinate meetings.
Marketing & Social Media:
- Manage the agency’s social media accounts (Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.), including content planning, scheduling, and engagement.
- Help plan and execute email marketing campaigns (via Klaviyo, Mailchimp, or Flodesk).
- Assist in creating content for blog posts, case studies, and newsletters.
- Monitor marketing performance and provide recommendations.
Research & Business Development:
- Conduct research on industry trends, marketing opportunities, and tools to improve operations.
- Support the founder with research and preparation for client strategy sessions.
Qualifications:
- 1–2 years of experience in data analysis, marketing, or operations is preferred, but if you don’t have this experience yet, we encourage you to apply if you believe your skills and curiosity make this a great fit.
- Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, basic data visualization).
- Familiarity with Shopify and social media management tools.
- Experience with email marketing platforms.
- Creative eye for design (Canva or basic Adobe skills a plus).
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
