Freelance Content Creator (1099) – Local to the Triangle, NC
Location: Hybrid (Remote + On-Site in the Triangle, NC)
Compensation: $22–$28/hour, depending on experience
Time Commitment: 10-12 hours/week with the opportunity to grow
About Us:
The Produce Box is a community-driven local food delivery service dedicated to connecting people with fresh, sustainable food from local farmers and artisans. We believe in telling the stories behind the food—who grows it, how it’s cultivated, and why it matters.
We’re looking for a self-led, creative content creator who can bring these stories to life through engaging social media content, growing our local impact in the Triangle, and helping convert leads into active customers.
Role Overview:
he ideal candidate will expand our Instagram and Facebook followings, update our product photo database, and create photo and video content that inspires engagement and action.
This is a freelance (1099) position with flexible remote work, but local travel within the Triangle is required for on-site content creation at farms, nonprofit partners, and product shoots.
Key Responsibilities:
- Product Photography – Capture high-quality, engaging imagery of our product catalog. Shoot on-site, edit, and deliver final files to the Marketing Director.
- Social Media Growth – Create and manage engaging content that increases our Instagram and Facebook followings, strengthens brand identity, and nurtures community engagement. Track key social media metrics and provide insights.
- Video Content Creation – Develop weekly Reels showcasing our products, farmers, and food system. Work closely with the Director of Marketing to align content with promotional campaigns, holidays, and themes.
- On-Site Content Capture – Travel to local farms and nonprofit partners to shoot behind-the-scenes photo and video content that highlights the people, places, and processes behind our food.
- Lead Conversion & Customer Engagement – Create content that not only educates and inspires but also drives new member sign-ups and increased customer engagement.
What We’re Looking For:
- Creative Self-Starter – Can take direction but also bring fresh, strategic content ideas to the table.
- Comfortable People Person – Able to engage with farmers, customers, drivers, and nonprofit partners to capture authentic, people-focused content.
- Experience Managing Social Media Accounts – Proven track record of growing engagement; data-driven results are a plus.
- Photography & Videography Skills – Experience with product photography, short-form video creation, and editing is a plus.
- Social Media Ads Experience – Familiarity with ad placement and audience targeting is a plus.
- Passion for Local, Sustainable Food – Someone who understands and appreciates the local food movement and can capture its beauty and importance.
