This is a pipeline job requisition, meaning we are proactively gathering resumes for potential future openings in this role. The Writers will be supporting various agencies and will be responsible for the following:

Produce client deliverables with a detail-oriented approach.

Take highly technical information and rewrite it into plain language.

Listen to meetings and write content based on what was heard for all types of deliverables, including emails, newsletters, reports, talking points, social media, etc.

Provide high quality service to our clients using outstanding interpersonal and writing skills.

Create audience-appropriate understandable text from complex, technical information in diverse communications materials (print and electronic). Ensure quality and consistency of tone, usage, clarity, grammar, spelling, punctuation, structure and layout.

Determine client objectives, develop responsive creative concepts, and interact with client to determine the creative solution.

Collaborate with designers to ensure client deliverables are produced in an efficient manner.

Collaborate with team members to support cross-functional projects and enhance information sharing.

Meet team requirements for maintaining up-to-date project trackers and other project tracking tools.

Independently create and meet project timelines, including milestones and deadlines, to ensure client and contract requirements are met.

Minimum of five years professional experience and a Bachelor’s degree

U.S. citizenship is required with verbal and written fluency in English

Must be able to receive and maintain a federal security clearance (public trust level)

Must be based in Washington D.C. – This role may have to report to client locations up to five days per week.

Must have experience with energy policy, Department of Energy, or related expertise.

Must be able to successfully complete a short writing assessment after interview.

Strongly prefer federal contracting experience.

Some positions may require team management experience.
